This is a highly recommended excursion from Amsterdam.
It is only 20 minutes far by train at the west of
Amsterdam, near the coast and the North Sea, and
has a very attractive historical center.
The focus of the visit is the Grote Markt Square, as in other cities of the Netherlands and Belgium. On the right you can see a video that gives an idea of the plaza. |

| The city has a population of about 150,000 inhabitatns and is crossed by the river Spaarne. Haarlem is a historic city, where tourism is increasingly important, and currently it's the city with more tourism in the Netherlands after the four major tourist cities (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht). |

| The main tourist attraction of Haarlem is undoubtedly the great variety of monumental buildings and interesting places, among which include the square of Grote Markt and its monumental church Grote Kerk (old cathedral of St Bavo), The Waag, the mill water Schoterveenpolder the Vleeshal and building Hoofdwacht. |
