| Palma de Majorca, or just Palma, is the capital of the island of Majorca and the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, located in the western Mediterranean Sea, about 250 km. east of the Iberian Peninsula. The city has about 400,000 inhabitants, which is among the eight most populated in Spain. | One of the most popular attractions of the city and that immediately attracts the attention is the cathedral of Palma, of which you can see several images here, both the exterior and interior. It is one of the visits that should be done in the city. Along the Paseo de la Sagrera, by the sea, there are several buildings that also call the attention of the tourist. | A visit to the center of Palma leads to the Plaza Mayor, on the way we passed through the Plaza de Cort, with its centenary olive tree, and saw the town hall and the building of the Consell. There are several examples of modernist architecture in the city. Can Casasayas is shown here. They are also very typical in Palma the courtyards of their houses, located in the area near thecathedral; here we see two examples. |
| Perhaps the most popular of the city of Palma is the Bellver Castle, situated on a hill near the city, from which there is a very good view of the bay and the capital. It is a must for tourists traveling to the capital of the Balearics. It is a circular medieval castle, which today houses the Museum of Palma. You can see here pictures of the exterior and interior. |
