Island of Majorca

Just after landing at Palma airport we picked up the rental car and we headed towards Capdepera, following the road Ma-15 to the east. The village of Capdepera is worth a slow visit, mainly to see the castle, which is not showed here. Past the village, you reach the lighthouse at the tip of Capdepera, from which there are attractive views of the rocky coast and the sea. You will not find photos or recommendations of beaches. Only photos taken from the coast, sea, rocks and other interesting things. Castellano

It' s a must to visit some of the caves on the island of Majorca. We were in the caves of Drach. Here there are no pictures of the inside because it is forbidden to do any type of recording or photograph. The visit is worthwhile. If you go in high season, book before you go, because the places and times are limited.

In the northeast corner of the island it's Formentor, a narrow peninsula in the municipality of Pollensa, which stretches about 12 km and reaches have 3 km wide, traversed by a road leading to the lighthouse at Cap de Formentor; one of the most visited places in Majorca, thanks to the beauty of a landscape that combines the sea and the mountains. Following the road, before reaching the beach, there are two places from which you can admire splendid views. The first is the viewpoint of the islet Creueta Colomer in the background; to this viewpoint are the following photos. The other is the Watchtower Albercuix, to which is reached by a road branching off the main.

Just south of Formentor, Port de Pollensa from the south (Alcudia), MA-2220 road runs along the coast of the Bay of Pollensa. This immediately struck by the number of people who were practicing kitesurfing. These photos show examples of the surfers who were there and colorful aspect of their sails continually going back and forth across the bay.

Besides the visit to Palma de Majorca, the last place we visited before returning the rental car and catch the plane back to Barcelona was Valldemossa, one of the attractive villages of the Sierra de Tramontana. Noted for its steep, narrow streets and its famous monastery, and the memories that she left in the winter of 1838-39 the stay of the romantic couple composed of Chopin and George Sand. It also highlights the XIII century church, much restored in the eighteenth century. This is a completely tourist-oriented town but retains its appeal.
